Nick and his family moved to Portland when his wife Patricia was offered a teaching job at Portland State University. After living in the Grant Park neighborhood of N.E. Portland for over 20 years, they recently moved to a rental apartment downtown.
Patricia teaches history and women's studies at PSU. Their daughter Maria works for Americorps, helping high school students achieve their dream of a college education. Their son Chapin is an 8th grader in Portland Public Schools, is fluent in Spanish and enjoys playing soccer and video games.
When Nick isn't working or campaigning, he can be found at local jazz clubs, independent bookstores, galleries or his son's soccer games.
